The trade fair combination Intec and Z closed their doors today at Leipzig's Exhibition Center while registering a significant increase in attendance - nationally and internationally. More than 23,500 visitors from over 35 countries (2013: 21,400 visitors from 27 countries) attended the Intec and Z to gather information at the most important platform taking place for the metal-processing industry in Germany from Feb. 24 to 27, 2015. 1,433 exhibitors from 33 countries were on hand to display their range of services and innovative products during the course of the four days (2013: 1,352 exhibitors).

- Intec and Z continued their growth course in terms of exhibitors, area and visitors. This clearly shows that the trade fair's concept has been widely accepted. And thus the trade fair duo has impressively reinforced its strong position in Europe - Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe, says with pride.

The Intec's exhibitors spanned the entire spectrum of production technologies for metal processing, covering primarily machine tools, automated production and robotics, laser and welding technology, precision tools, tool systems, instrumentation and control equipment, quality assurance and production-related software solutions. The Z - Subcontracting specializes in innovative and flexible supply services and showcases competent suppliers and subcontractors involved in machinery and vehicle construction, plastics technology and processing, electrical engineering, electronics and medical technology. Issues of topical interest for the industry such as using fiber composite structures in serial production, generative production processes in the metalworking industry and the discussion forums focusing on "Industry 4.0" were well received.

- With their noticeable optimism and clearly defined goals, the exhibitors have made the industry event which marks the start of this year's trade fair calendar a complete success. The great importance that our trade fair combination enjoys can also be seen in the quality of the trade visitors. The many talks we conducted with exhibitors confirm: The Intec and Z are a central location for upcoming purchase decisions. With decision-makers representing a good 50% of the trade visitors, business transactions are a distinguishing feature of both trade fairs in Leipzig. Nine out of ten exhibitors anticipate good follow-up business - explains Geisenberger.

The exhibitors agree with this assessment as well.

- This year's Intec was an absolute success for our company in every respect. Both the attendance figures at our stand and the resulting business transactions increased by about 25% compared to 2013. The high level of expertise exhibited by the trade visitors who had already read about our products in advance and submitted specific inquiries was especially impressive - said Frank Danne, Managing Director of DMG Mori Berlin, with praise.

More and more visitors travel a significant distance to participate in the Intec and Z. The increased number of trade visitors from all parts of Germany is proof of the growing demand beyond the surrounding regions.

- The Intec is indispensable for any company that wants to establish itself in the Central German region. We conducted a wide variety of promising meetings with competent visitors, including many important decision-makers. In addition to that, we were very surprised that there were very many visitors on hand from the western German states. That helped us to make many valuable new contacts - says Günter Szerencses, Sales Manager at Deutschland ISCAR GmbH.

Even the number of international participants has been increasing constantly. The trade fair duo is also popular especially among trade visitors from Central and Eastern Europe. Industry representatives from Poland, Czech Republic, Russia and Belarus, among many others, were also on hand at the trade fairs in Leipzig.
